Foam dunnage is a kind of flexible liner made of foam material, which is widely used in industry, electronics, construction, packaging and other fields. It is usually made of XPE,IXPE and other polymer materials through the foaming process. Foam dunnage is lightweight, soft, flexible and so on, and can play a buffer, sealing, shock absorption, heat insulation, sound insulation and many other functions.
According to different needs, foam dunnage can be designed into different densities, thicknesses and hardnesses, and can be enhanced by surface treatment (such as adhesive coating, laminating) or composite other materials. The main features of foam dunnage are:
- light weight and flexibility: the main component of the foam dunnage is foamed material, containing a large number of internal pore structure, so the weight is relatively light, and at the same time has good flexibility and plasticity, can adapt to a variety of shapes of the surface.
- excellent cushioning performance: because of its internal porous structure, foam dunnage can absorb and disperse energy when subjected to external impact, thus effectively protecting the wrapped or supported items, avoiding damage due to vibration or collision.
- Good sealing performance: Foam dunnage can be compressed and deformed to achieve a tight fit, forming an effective sealing layer, used to prevent the intrusion of water, dust or other external substances, especially suitable for the need for waterproof and dustproof scenes.
- Thermal and acoustic insulation: the pore structure of the foam material can effectively block the heat transfer and sound wave propagation, making it excellent in thermal insulation and noise reduction.
- chemical corrosion resistance: part of the high-performance foam dunnage has a strong chemical corrosion resistance, able to resist oil, acid and alkali solutions and other chemical erosion, longer service life.
- Processing flexibility: foam dunnage can be cut, molded, molding and other secondary processing according to the needs of the production of products to meet the specific dimensions and functional requirements to meet the diverse application scenarios.
